‘Ted Lasso’s’ Tailgate Party Celebrates Its Bucket Full of Emmy Nominations

The gang was all there- except for Jason Sudeikis- as the cast of Apple TV+’s “Ted Lasso” celebrated the 20 Emmy nominations they scored for their sophomore season at a boisterous event in Los Angeles billed as a tailgate party.

The Emmy award-nominated cast gathered at the event on Monday, July 18 on the outdoor patio of the Maybourne Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, joined by an appreciative crowd who laughed and cheered during their panel discussion. 

This fan favorite comedy featuring a small-time college football coach hired to coach a professional soccer team in England has been a favorite right out of the gate, earning seven Emmy wins after its first season.

Not only does Sudeikis star in this successful comedy series, but he also serves as executive producer, alongside Bill Lawrence. The NBC Sports based series was developed by Sudeikis, Joe Kelly, Lawrence and Brenden Hunt. 

Many cast members were nominated for awards, including Juno Temple and Hannah Waddingham for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series and Brett Goldstein for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. The series has also been nominated for best comedy series, as well as Sudeikis deservingly being nominated for best lead actor in a comedy series.

Seasons one and two of “Ted Lasso” are streaming and available to watch on Apple TV+.
