Shimmery lip gloss has long been our jam, usually worn over our favorite lipstick to give it a unique edge. Even as it wears down, the shimmer is still left on the lips evenly, unlike matte gloss colors that seem to drift towards the lower lip line.
That’s why we are especially thrilled with Huda Beauty’s Lip Strobe. It packs about five times the amount of shimmer as in other brands we’ve known and loved. Of course we’re leaving out the sticky ones, some of whom have great shades but won’t work because of the icky-sticky.
But getting back to Huda, with actually calls these glosses “metallic finish,” the pigmentation is so great that we are loving wearing these without any lipstick. The formula comes in a beautiful palette of a dozen colors, ranging from a pearly white to a deep purple.
It’s a prismatic spectrum of sheer and full coverage colors and you’ll have fun adding them to your lip game. Another selling point ($18) is the heart-shaped flock applicator which requires only one swipe for an even coat of shimmery, glimmering color.
Another lip product we’re digging is Moroccan Magic’s Rescue Balm, a Chapstick-size product made with organic argan oil. One for your car, one for your purse, one for your gym bag, one for your carry on and one in your pocket – yes, please.
The spectrum of flavors is bound to delight anyone who wants to keep their lips soft, smooth and conditioned day and night summer or winter. And that’s all of us, right?
Company owner Kristina Tsipouras Miller started the brand three years ago in an effort to create a better balm. The company sources the organic and natural oils and herbs used in the product which many have called the smoothest lip balm ever.
You can find Moroccan Magic for about $4 each in flavors/scents including coconut almond, lemon thyme, lavender vanilla, elderberry and Manuka honey, and Manuka honey – and unscented. The sleek black case features a metallic stripe at the bottom corresponding to its flavor, like purple for lavender vanilla.
