Osea Skincare Studio
Visiting Osea Skincare Studio for the first time was a singular experience. It was urban, near the heat of the action on Venice’s popular Abbot Kinney Boulevard. It was beachy, not too far from the boardwalk, the sand and the Pacific.
But most indelibly, the company’s spa was an oasis of calm and beauty. We fell in love immediately with the historic white bungalow the moment we walked in and were greeted by the friendly staff before our facial.

If you don’t know Osea Malibu, you should. The family-run business has been around since 1996 and specializes in products that are vegan and cruelty free, gluten-free and made in California. Only the finest natural ingredients from the earth and the ocean are used to create luxury skincare, much of it made with organic seaweed extracts combined with cold-pressed essential oils that form the base of nearly all the products.
Osea offers a full line of skincare products from cleansers to moisturizers, facial oils,, eye creams exfoliators, masks, body lotions and hand creams. Also in the product line are a hydrating seaweed bath soak, an antiaging mineral salts body scrub and a gentle, softening seaweed and botanical body scrub.

There are products for every skin type from oily and acne-prone to normal, dry and sensitive.
We fall in the dry and sensitive categories so there’s always a little bit of hesitation about getting a facial that might be too rough. Not to worry – it was wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed the 50 minute Cranial Wave Facial which invokes techniques inspired by craniosacral therapy and includes deep pore cleansing, a personalized restorative mask and a relaxing cranial touch massage. The facial wraps up with an anti-inflammatory LED light therapy that awakens the skin and feels very healing.
Other types of facials including an express 25 minute treatment are available at the skincare studio. It’s been open for less than a year and just began operating on Sundays, a perfect day to pay a visit.
