The black-tie gala, held January 26, was hosted by actress and comedian Tichina Arnold, best known for her roles on Martin, Everybody Hates Chris and Survivor’s Remorse. After opening remarks from the president of American Cinema Editors, Stephen Rivkin, ACE, she had the boisterous crowd rolling with laughter during her opening monologue during which she proclaimed editors as the most important people in Hollywood.

The editors of Dunkirk, I, Tonya and Coco received the top film awards while editors of TV shows including black-ish, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Fargo, The Handmaid’s Tale and Genius were awarded statuettes for their work.

“I guess I don’t have to clean out the garage tomorrow after all,” said Genius editor James Wilcox in his heartfelt acceptance speech.

James WilcoxWriter, producer, creator and showrunner Vince Gilligan received the ACE Golden Eddie Award for his groundbreaking  career, which includes such hits as Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. It was presented to him by long-time collaborator Skip MacDonald, ACE.
