Going Green for Emmys with Ecoluxe Luxury Lounge
For ten years now, the EcoLuxe Luxury Lounge has been a big part of Emmy Week tradition, celebrating awards nominees, presenters and VIP guests by providing products and services from environmentally friendly companies.
Nothing like feeling good about getting gifted, starting with swanky location– the penthouse of the Beverly Hilton, which provides 360° views of Los Angeles. And on this day before the Emmys, Mother Nature could not have been more cooperative as several hundred attendees came out for the all-day indoor/outdoor soirée with perfect weather conditions.
Often during Emmy season, temperatures roast above 100°–but not so this year. It was perfect for the European-style farm to table brunch with a menu created by the hotel’s Chef Alberico.
The event, produced by Debbie Durkin, benefited the Shriners Hospital for Children in Los Angeles, which will be opening a new facility in Pasadena next year.
In that spirit of giving, there was an on-site Mr. & Mrs. Claus for a pre-holiday #SelfiesWithSanta photo activation as well as a toy drive for the hospital.
Among the attendees: new mom Audrina Patridge, who posed for adorable pictures with a giant teddy bear and Shriners Ambassador Marius Woodward, Aaron Carter, Caroline Hennessy and Shar Jackson.
Another unique element was the interactive photo booth in a 15-foot high Inflatable Human Snow Globe which provided innumerable photo ops for guests, complete with snow, despite the fact it was 80° and sunny.
But the main attraction was the diverse array of vendors participating in the exclusive event.
Some of our favorites included the solid, well-crafted luggage with fashionable fun patterns from Chariot Travelware, which come with a five-year warranty.
And then there was the ingenious product called “Connect Charlie,” an electric/USB charging stations with nine, yes, 9, USB ports—more than enough for anyone’s needs. It has three electrical outlets and when you plug it into the wall, it also provides a nightlight/emergency light. In a word, absolutely ingenious.
(Both of the aforementioned companies are based in Southern California, with Chariot in Ontario and Connect Charlie in Laguna Hills. Hooray for local!)
As guests made their way through the suite, anyone with flagging energy was quickly powered up by staff serving Bulletproof Coffee. It afforded as a chance to finally try their famous grass-fed, buttered brew, and what a kick that was.
Other popular vendors included the Beverly Hilton’s Aqua Star Babor Beaty Spa, which provided many massages and gift certificates, Bristol Farms, Benetie Shoes, which featured eco-friendly kicks, JB Clothiers, with its fashionable men’s bespoke suits, uxedos and other custom clothing including beautiful silk ties and matching pocket squares, John Paul Pet, with eco-friendly pet shampoos, StrawFree.org, with bamboo, reusable straws, Pure Design with luxury bedding and interior design consulting from Ami McKay, RePurpose Compostables, showcasing plant-based cops, flatware and dinnerware and UCI ANTreprenuers with Sol Sisters UV protectant fashions and Mogul Dolls.
The Bombshell Beauty Agency provided manicures and polish changes.
Also participating, the Mexico Tourism Board with presentations on their luxury properties in locations including Cabo, Punta Mita, Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit.
Because who doesn’t need a vacation after the excitement of Emmy season?
