Bow Wow Beverly Hills Goes Vegas for The Amanda Foundation
The four-legged friends were even more decked out then their human minders at a festive event benefiting The Amanda Foundation in Beverly Hills on Sunday night.
The canine guests were on their best behavior for Bow Wow Beverly Hills Presents Vintage Las Vegas, held on Via Rodeo.
Guests packed into the annual Halloween-themed fundraiser that honored animal advocate Tina Sinatra, the recipient of the foundation’s “Worthy of Love” award, in recognition of her support of the organization’s mission to rescue homeless dogs and cats.
Ms. Sinatra recently donated $1 million to improve and expand the foundation services at its owned and operated veterinary practice in Beverly Hills. The Amanda Foundation, which since 1976 has rescued and placed thousands of animals into new homes, also runs California’s most successful free mobile spray and neuter program.
The event also featured a doggy fashion show and the auctioning off of a Chopard gold collar designed for “The Artist’s” Uggie, which went for $2,000.
Silent auction items also benefited the organization and included paintings donated by Ms. Sinatra, a Tiffany & Co. necklace, an African safari, boxed recording sets from the Rolling Stones and The Who, tickets to “The Voice” finale and gift certificates to some of LA’s hottest restaurants including Craig’s and Connie and Ted’s.
While guests enjoyed a special Halloween cocktail, the “Tina-tini,” they were able to try their luck at gaming tables for roulette, craps and blackjack.
The Amanda Foundation’s fundraising goals include building a new state-of-the-art animal hospital and kennel for the animals they rescue and the under-served clients they assist on a daily basis. The building they call home was constructed in 1924 out of stucco and wood, and has seen better days. A new building and equipment will sustain the foundation and allow them to expand their Spaymobile program. Additional space will let The Amanda Foundation increase their educational programs and improve the living conditions for the dogs and cats they house, which will increase adoptions.
