Even as Los Angeles continued to recover from the devastating January wildfires, there was celebration in the air as the city prepared to celebrate the Academy Awards on Sunday, March 2.
On a sunny Friday going into Oscar weekend, one of the best places to be was an estate in Beverly Hills where event producer Debbie Durkin put on her all-day ECOLUXE pre-Oscars Luxury Lounge, which she’s done now for 18 years.
In addition to film and TV stars and other industry VIPs, the guests at this year’s event included the brave first responders and firefighters whose heroism will never be forgotten by the fire’s victims and the entire Los Angeles area.
It was an opportunity for them to create positive new memories during a day of joy and celebration. That included the attendees being gifted with a number of brands and services including Fayah Athletics & Streetwear, UltraSculpt, Ettitude Bamboo Bedding, Ellovi and Practicality Skincare.
Spotted amongst the guests: ‘Mission Impossible’ star, Esai Morales, Oscar nominee Lee Broda, ‘The Office’ star Kate Flannery, actor Gregory Zarian, Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud III and HBO’s ‘Winning Time’ star and Emmy nominee, actor Spencer Garrett.
Because many of the cherished items that were lost in the fires were photographs, the event featured photographer David Christopher Lee snapping portraits of the guests after they were prepped by makeup artist Hillary Clark.
Lee’s photos will be part of a coffee table style book to be produced and sold on Amazon with all of the proceeds benefiting Marley’s Mutts Dog Rescue Ranch, a nonprofit that works to save and re-home displaced pets, some of whom were on hand to nuzzle with guests.
Durkin’s events always feature a bountiful, delicious lunch spread and this year it was catered by Chef Denise of Genniebee Catering.
