Because of wildfires ranging across Los Angeles, the Screen Actors Guild forewent a live announcement of its nominees for the 31st SAG Awards and went out with a press release instead.
Box office smash Wicked leads the film noms with five, followed by A Complete Unknown with four nominations.
Wicked’s other nods are for best actress (Cynthia Erivo), best supporting actress (Ariana Grande), best supporting actor (Jonathan Bailey) and stunt ensemble.
Among the most lauded television nominees are Shogun, Abbott Elementary, Hacks and The Bear.
Actor Kristen Bell is slated to host the SAG awards on February 23 to be streamed live on Netflix. She is also a nominee for the streamer’s comedy series Nobody Wants This, as is her co-star Adam Brody.
