On the tails of its Oscar nomination as Best Picture, the folks behind “Top Gun: Maverick” are celebrating their big win at the 21st annual Movies for Grownups Awards.

The ceremonies are presented by AARP the Magazine, and this year’s festivities were again hosted by Alan Cumming at the Beverly Wilshire hotel. You can catch them on PBS on February 17 at 9pm ET.

Highlights from the evening included the talented Austin Butler, delivering an impactful introduction for Best Director winner Baz Luhrmann for “Elvis,” Another memorable moment from the evening was Jamie Lee Curtis receiving this year’s Career Achievement Award, which was presented by Brian Tyree Henry.

“At the end of the day, what I love most about grownups is that we are more alike than different – grownups suit up and show up each day, regardless of the way our cards were dealt,” said Curtis, who also co-stars with Best Actress winner Michelle Yeoh in “Everything Everywhere All at Once.”.

“It’s the beauty of grownups and I’m honored to be considered one because it’s a badge of honor that I wear proudly on my face, on my body, in my mind and in my soul and I’m grateful for AARP tonight for this beautiful recognition.”

Curtis is such an inspiring figure within the entertainment industry, and I love seeing her take pride in her career and work.
