The 63rd Grammy Awards will be remembered for many things, among them the fact that they took place one year into the coronavirus pandemic.
Compared to other awards shows that have taken place under Covid restrictions, this edition of the Grammys, produced by Ben Winston, will be remembered as the best of the bunch with blowout performances on multiple stages each with their own theme. Taylor Swift in a cabin, anyone?
But most importantly, they will go down in history as the year that Beyoncé won her record 28th gramophone statuette, making her the performing artist with the most Grammy wins ever.
She may be Queen Bey, but other female artists also made history during the show, first-time hosted by Trevor Noah.
T-Swift became the first female singer to win album of the year three times when she took this year’s honor for Folklore. And last year’s darling Billie Eilish took a record of the year again with her indelible Everything I Wanted.
Harry Styles, who wowed television audiences everywhere with his attire of leather jacket, feather boa and no shirt, won his first Grammy ever for best pop solo performance.
In addition to his performance of Watermelon Sugar, other memorable performances came from BTS, Post Malone, Cardi B. and Megan Thee Stallion, who took the prize for best new artist.
