Nominations for the second annual Critics Choice Real TV Awards were announced Monday morning with Netflix topping the leaderboard at 31 nods for its reality programming.
The streamer’s “Cheer” and VH1’s “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” each with five nominations, lead the nominees for the awards contest, whose winners will be announced June 29.
Other series landing multiple nods are Netflix’s “Queer Eye” with four and Showtime’s “Couples Therapy” with three.
ABC, Bravo and VH1 each earned six nominations apiece while Fox, HBO and NBC followed with five each.
Jeff Probst, host and executive producer of “Survivor,” will be honored by the Critics Choice Association and nonfiction producers’ organization NPACT to receive the Critics Choice Real TV Impact Award “for his ongoing contributions to the unscripted television industry.”
The Critics Choice Real TV Awards recognize “excellence in nonfiction, unscripted and reality programming across broadcast, cable and streaming platforms.”
Winners in two categories — female star of the year and male star of the year — will be chosen by fan voting, which is now open at criticschoice.com.
