Game of Thrones fans may well remember the scene when Ygritte asked Jon Snow if he liked women who swoon – and perhaps her ribbing of him even served to make their real-life romance more exciting. And after previewing the entire Urban Decay Game of Thrones collection, we can safely say that you will swoon over it.
The limited edition collection, which is officially licensed by HBO for its epic, game-changing medieval fantasy drama, dropped the day GoT’s first episode of Season 8 aired April 14–and within about seven hours, sold out on urbandecay.com
But don’t worry beauty junkies, more (winter) is coming. At last check, the collection was back in stock online.
The stunning collection includes an eyeshadow palette, Vice lipsticks, 24/7 glide-on eye pencils, a highlighter palette and a lip and cheek stain. There are also two eyeshadow brushes, one named for Arya Stark’s Needle and the other for the King in the North, Jon Snow’s Longclaw, their respective swords.
We’ve always been a huge fan of UD’s eyeshadow palettes but this one surpasses everything we’ve seen, even the incredible Alice in Wonderland and New York City collections released awhile back.
The palettes feature a pop-up Iron Throne and a quote from the Mother of Dragons herself, Daenerys Targaryen.
Inside are four groups of five shades, for House Targaryen, House Lannister, House Stark and the North. Each group of five would be fantastic but to have them all in one place means it is an incredible arsenal from which to unleash your game.
Just to tempt you further, the names of the colors include Stormborn, Bend the Knee, Free Folk, Winter Is Here, Casterly Rock, Winterfell, King’s Landing, Red Keep, Nymeria and Weirwood Leaves.
The palette works in concert with the four new 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils which are waterproof and long-lasting. We are already in love with Lannister Gold and Winterfell Snow, a unique shade of white with tiny bits of blue shimmer. The other cool limited edition colors are The Night King and Dragon Smoke.
The Mother of Dragons Highlighter Palette is a work of art with a dragon egg embossed into each of the three gorgeous shades.
Also rising fierce are the four new intensely-pigmented Vice lipstick colors named for Cersei Lannister (metallic bronze), Sansa Stark (warm peach nude), White Walker (deep berry wine) and Daenerys Targaryen which is, no surprise, a fiery red.
Rounding out the collection is a lip and cheek stain called Dracarys, which is Dany’s order to her dragons when she wants them to destroy her enemies.
Go on then. It’s your turn to rule the Seven Kingdoms!
The collection will be available online at Ulta and Sephora on April 29 and in stores May 2.
