Interspersed amongst the hot new cars in the McLaren and Maserati Beverly Hills showroom – all with price tags north of $300k– were some of the music industry’s brightest stars and VIPs perusing a showcase of products at GBK’s luxury gift and style lounge.
It’s an annual tradition for GBK to honor Grammy nominees and presenters with a festive event held the day before music’s biggest night–in a unique and fun venue.
Talent taking part included Diplo, Jake Miller, Ally Brooke from Fifth Harmony, Drew Chadwick & Wesley Stromberg (Emblem 3) King (*Nominated for Best Urban Album), Sofi Tukker (nominated for Best Dance Recording), Ricky Whittle, Matty Cardarople, Laura Spencer and Kandi Burruss.
In addition to current day artists, GBK created a musical tribute to those from the past, with original artwork by Michael Jackson, a signed guitar from Prince, and numerous albums signed by artists including two signed by Whitney Houston. Other albums displayed throughout the venue included those by legendary artists B.B. King, Lou Reed, David Bowie, Leonard Cohen, Amy Winehouse, George Michael and numerous others. Enhancing the atmosphere, DJ Tegan spun records from the beloved music icons throughout the day.
With gifting and goodies spread throughout the showroom, there was also an element of giving back, benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The organization brought four children who were treated just like celebrities. They received gifts from Beauty Kitchen by Heather Marianna, Rosewill’s Prelude Headphones, American Hat Makers and a gift certificate from Crystamas Inc. that provides holiday ornaments for years to come.
Watchmaker Jiusko USA donated $3,000 to Make a Wish in the spirit of giving back.
Many of the gifts were geared toward musicians. Diplo was the most excited about the Sound Bot Speakers. Ally from Fifth Harmony thought HIFIMAN had the most stylish headphones she had ever seen. Guests also were happy to receive an Argan Oil Ultimate Gold Hair Care set, a complete professional hair care set for dry and damaged hair and other products from Luseta Beauty.
Speaking of beauty and looking good, DermaGo, a mobile medical spa, gave out gift certificates for in home or office services for Botox, Juvederm, and Clear and Brilliant. Their staff also were on hand for on-site B-12 shots to keep recipients feeling strong though the long awards weekend.
Other products included precious stone bracelets from BOPULENT Jewelry, Siberian mink lashes from Minki Lash , stylish shoes from GuiltySoles and Audiopark headphones that wrap as a bracelet, so they are always easily accessible.
Libations were provided by 4 Copas Tequila and The Blending Lab, which poured custom-made wine and gave out certificates for their new location in West Hollywood. Small bites were served by Meal and Speil, whose recipes meld Italian and Californian influences. The company also gave out certificates for home cooking lessons. Mr. Foodtastic was on site sampling his famous flavored popcorn and giving his secret spice as well a certificate for a catered meal. And to make it all even sweeter, Sprinkles Cupcakes rose to the occasion with its custom designed GBK Cupcakes.
