East Coast designer Sophie Blake has set up shop in Los Angeles for the summer, showcasing unique jewelry designs under her SBNY brand that make a statement during the warmer weather– or any time of the year.
Fashionable West Coasters got introduced to SBNY at a kickoff event at the W Hotel in Westwood in June, where the contemporary yet classic designs featured on black-clad models were a big hit and attendees perused a display with swoon-worthy necklaces, earrings, cuffs, bracelets and rings.
Blake has already garnered a celebrity and trendsetter following that includes Leandra Medine, Ashley Madekwe, Katharine McPhee, Liane La Havas, Sarah Gadon and Anushka Sharma.
Her love of architecture and Art Deco design infuses itself into her ever-growing collection, which is hand-crafted using traditional jewelry-making techniques and high quality materials including vintage chains, stones and crystals.
The first SBNY collection was launched with Henri Bendel in New York. Last year, Blake was awarded with Rising Star in Jewelry by Fashion Group International (FGI) DC.
Among the most popular pieces is the “Billy” cuff, available in rose gold, silver and gold-tone metals.
The pop-up shop runs through August in downtown LA at The Springs LA, 608 Mateo St, Los Angeles, (213) 223-6226
