The G in GBK should stand for great, as its events always are – and this year’s luxury gift lounge honoring the nominees and presenters of the 2014 Emmy Awards was no exception. And for the record, GBK stands for the initials of company founder and CEO Gavin B. Keilly, who has been in the biz since 2000.
The two-day event featured an array of beautiful jewelry, hot electronics, fashionable accessories and luxurious beauty and skin care products. It was held during the weekend leading up to the awards at Beverly Hills’ swank L’Ermitage Hotel with presenting sponsor Michael Todd True Organics.
The festive environment not only offered gifts to celebrities and VIPs, but a festive, exclusive environment complete with plentiful refreshments and great music by DJ Morgan Hildebrand.
Among the guests attending were Viola Davis, Angela Bassett, Beau Bridges, “Breaking Bad’s” R.J. Mitte, “Ray Donovan’s” Dash Mihok and DWTS’s Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
As always, there was a charitable element as well, with fund raising for Cops 4 Causes, the GO Campaign, Environmental Media Association and Mutt Match LA K-9 Rescue Ranch and Sanctuary.
Among the great gifts were the new Soniclear, Michael Todd’s new antimicrobial sonic skin cleansing system, fashion forward Bluetooth headsets from LG electronics that can be worn as necklaces, stunning rose gold, silver and gold earrings and necklaces from DiModolo Milano jewelers, Maxim Matresses and retro/classic sunglasses from Foster Grant.
It’s always a treat to get a gift bag from The Artisan Group filled with handcrafted products designed by artists from around the country. Included this time was a selection of necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings from the likes of Karla Wheeler Design, Natures Splendour, Zoe + Piper, Imaginature, Kamarela Designs, Lucinda de Castro, Rew Elliott and Kate + Moose. There were also natural, handmade bath and body products and beautiful notecards from the collective of artists.
Another highlight of the lounge was the range of destinations gifted to honorees, including the Mulia Resort & Villas in Nusa Dua, Bali, Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort in Cancun, Crescent Hotel Beverly Hills and The Little Nell in Aspen.
And many people were excited about getting an Intuition Blueprint Reading from Joanna Garzilli, and a copy of her new book, “Unleash the Psychic in You.”
As guests checked out the various vendors, the also sampled a range of beverages from Sequin Wines, JeJu Sixteen Water, kkAda Caramel Liqueur and LIQRpop, a frozen cocktail confection.
And in case anyone overindulged over the awards weekend – and really, who didn’t? – there’s always that handy gift certificate for a membership at David Barton Gym.
